Shipping, Returns & FAQ

Pieces in stock ship within 2–3 business days. Standard ground shipping in the continental US arrives in 3–7 business days from there. Custom orders ship 3–6 weeks after order, depending on size and complexity.

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight and destination. We use rigid boxes and protective packaging — these are heavy hardwood pieces, and we ship them like it.

Not at this time. We currently ship within the United States only. Reach out via the contact page if you have a specific request.

Email us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage and the packaging. We will replace or refund — no fight.

Standard pieces: 30-day return window for unused, unwashed items in original condition. Buyer covers return shipping; we refund the item price after the piece arrives back safely.

Custom and engraved pieces are made to order and not eligible for return unless there is a defect or workmanship issue. If something is wrong, contact us and we will make it right.

Domestic American hardwoods primarily — hard maple, black walnut, cherry — accented with padauk and purpleheart for color. All food-safe species. The exact mix varies by piece; check each product page.

Yes. We finish every piece with food-grade mineral oil and beeswax. No lacquers, no polyurethane, nothing that would leach into food.

Most of our boards are edge-grain — strips laid on their long side, glued together. They are dense, beautiful, and great for everyday prep. End-grain construction (where the cutting surface is the cut end of the wood fibers) is available on custom orders and is the gold standard for heavy chopping.

Properly cared for, no. Wood moves with humidity, but a kiln-dried, well-finished, regularly oiled board stays flat and stable for decades. The most common cause of warping is moisture imbalance — i.e. soaking it or putting one wet side down on a counter overnight.
